TJ's family Birthday party

The annual Holmes family July birthday celebration (we have 5 birthdays in July and 1 in early Aug) also became TJ's family birthday celebration this year. A backyard BBQ and swim party at Grandma and Pawpaw's house...

Having lots of fun in the pool!

Again with the licking of the cake topper- he REALLY likes that!

Yay for cousins...

And yay for Birthdays and cake!

Kinder Pics

Kinder is going great. Alli loves school, gets good marks every day on her folder, is making new friends, and loves getting to buy her lunch. Her only complaints are that she is so tired after school and that she doesn't like having to be away from us so much. But, we're adjusting.

This was after meet the teacher night on the playground.

Making her own lunch the night before. This picture was actually her first homework assignment. She was to bring a pic of herself getting ready for school and they got to talk about their picture on the first day. That was also our last homework assignment other than nightly reading. She doesn't get homework which at first I wasn't sure about, but I think I'm okay with it. Makes our evenings nice. We'll see at the first parent conference if that will continue.

Breakfast of champions! She hasn't seen one that well-rounded since.

Out the door for her first day. She was so excited!
Proud daddy with ready with the video camera!

Learning the morning routine and her responsibilities with her backpack, lunch bag and daily folder.

At her seat and ready to learn! We noticed a brief look of apprehension after she sat down but it quickly faded as she started playing and talking to her table mates. She did great and so did I- no tears!! (there were plenty of those the week of registration- from mommy I mean)
It's still so hard to believe that my baby girl is going to school- especially since my plan was always to keep her home and home school her, but I do feel like this is God's plan and He has brought me peace about that. For one, we discovered that Alli thrives in the classroom setting and is more open to lessons from a teacher than her parents. But, part of me thinks that maybe it was also to bring us out of our comfort zone and outside of the Christian bubble I live in. Maybe, just maybe we are supposed to share His love with someone who doesn't know Him. Excited to see what He has planned for us here!

TJ is 4!

TJ's Batman Party back in August...

The kids had a blast on the super cool water slide- thanks Aunt Laura for letting us use it!

Taking turns dressing up as Batman...

Grant

Jakers

Lydia as Catwoman and Alli's "Batman to the rescue" pose.

Grant and Ava

How cute are these sisters? Camdyn on the left and Brynn (TJ's "girlfriend") on the right

TJ and Jakers tearin' it up on the slide. They are our wild boys!

First time mommy didn't make the cake, but TJ really liked this when he saw it in the store, so I decided a break would be nice!

He was most excited about getting to lick the icing off of the cake topper...

He kept asking if he would get to do this because all his friends do that at their parties. He couldn't wait. It's the little things.

Pinata time!!!!

Alli got to help daddy with the rope!

Best Buds!!

That is one proud and happy birthday boy with all his friends.

And of courses, presents to top it all off! You just can't beat that!

I really can't believe my little guy is 4. He is so silly and fun and "all boy" but he is really quite sweet too. He brings us so much joy and I am so proud of the big boy he has become.
