I can't even go into all the emotions and thoughts that are swirling in my mind, but in simple words, it is the end of an era. Not to mention the beginning of so many new things that I'm not sure if I'm ready for yet. I am just having a hard time with the idea of dropping her off and being away from her 5 days a week. And what will TJ do when his full-time playmate is out of the house so much? Okay, so maybe I can go into some of the thoughts, but there are many more. My sweet baby girl is growing up and I want to push "pause" but I can't.

Kindergarten Round Up
Well, it's official. Alli is enrolled to be a Helotes Bulldog next year. And if the way I handled registering her for kindergarten is any indication of how I will handle the first day of school, then I will be in need of some serious therapy on that day. That is a warning for my friends and family. Let's just say more than a few tears have already been shed.

Alli, on the other hand, is so thrilled about it all. She absolutely LOVED the school and can not wait for this next step in her life. I even shot a video of her standing in front of the school after registration saying things like "This is my new school and surely I am so excited about going to kindergarten because this is the best place I have ever been." I mean she went on and on and was speaking as if she was standing in front of an audience. It was adorable! Well, I accidentally erased that video from my camera. Oh yes, I did. So hopefully, we can recreate something similar on that first day. You better believe I'll try!

Awwww it makes my heart sad for you!! I can't imagine....
She is a ham!!
You can tell she is so proud in the pictures! It is a hard transition and I felt myself feeling a little emotional when we registered Autumn. Granted I've had this year to get used to the girls going to preschool everyday so our adjustment won't be quite the same next year. It is the end of the whirlwind baby, toddler, preschool ages and on to having a big kid who's going to do nothing but get older! I just hold on to that thought that there could be one more baby and I'll really relish it and at least know that it's the last time to have a child in all of those stages (if that makes sense, that's my rationalization for dealing with it all).
Be proud of the job you have done preparing her for this milestone - she is SO ready and that means you and D have built her confidence and self-assurance.
I have to say, please enjoy every second of every day this summer. Make a list of the things you want to do together and do them. Don't worry too much about teaching her to read, spell, etc... spend time PLAYING PLAYING PLAYING this summer. That's what we did, and I am SO glad! She will get more than enough workbook time really soon.
Well, you are welcome to call me, Julie, but as you know from calling me right after Kinder Roundup, I will just cry right along with you. If you need someone to be strong, call Steph.
