The weather was beautiful on Saturday and we felt like spending some time outdoors and getting some exercise so we went to Government Canyon State Natural Area for an afternoon hike.

I was excited to see that the wildflowers were starting to bloom! After a few years of drought, I'm ready for a colorful spring!
I don't know why but I always love watching them hike down a trail from behind. Just adds to the view I guess to see my family enjoying nature.

Dwaine and I decided this would be the best way to enjoy a hike. All of the enjoyment, none of the exertion and you can even take a little snooze if you want!

Yay for bluebonnets! This one was just screaming to have its picture taken.

The wildflowers don't look as good in these pics as they did in person. They were a really pretty purpley pink color.

Charlotte loves being outside too...

She was flashing all kinds of smiles at me when we stopped for a snack.

I always have hard time picking just one picture to share.

She was "talking" a lot too!

Wow! I still can't believe how blessed I am. Thank you Lord for these beautiful children!

I love Alli's face in this picture- true happiness. As I've mentioned before, she absolutely loves having a baby sister!

I guess we need a tripod so we can actually get a family pic with all of us in it. But thanks to Alli, Dwaine and I were at least able to make an appearance in one together.

We couldn't get over how tall these cacti were so we made TJ stand next to it for scale. It still doesn't translate into film but they were really big. We saw a bigger one after this. Maybe we're dorks, but we get excited about stuff like that!
I love days like this! We hiked for a good 2 hrs or more and then wrapped up the afternoon with big juicy burgers at a local burger joint. And the kids cleaned their plates (or paper baskets rather) - amazing how a little hiking will build up a good healthy appetite!

Looks like fun and love the pics! Charlotte is looking so much bigger already and I see the personality shining through! She reminds me of Carly with the eyebrows & eyelashes that are so light and barely there at that age (and same amount of hair, too). Love that pic of Alli, too, holding Charlotte!
